The Gift that is You
Dear Members of the Parish,
I want to thank all of you who helped to make Advent and Christmas so memorable: our Staff, the teens who so ably directed the Pageant: Bella Rao, Isabel and Stoddard Meigs and Chris Rao; our Altar Guild; the Junior Choir, the Adult Choir under the inspirational direction of Linda Clark; all the Children of Grace who participated in the Pageant (with Ed Pease and the parents hovering by); to Mary Swezy, Chris Samuels, Edith Fenton, Peggy and John Heywood who put together such a wonderful Christmas Dinner and all of you who helped with set-up and clean-up, as well as your fabulous food contributions!
Thanks to all of you who gave Lisa and I such yummy baked goods and lovely cards and gifts -- we are touched by your love and caring.
As we continue in the season of Christmas, I offer you some thoughts from "Following the Star," by Tracy Hartman:
"The mystery of God's existence is deep, stretching from before the beginning to after the end. But our own existence makes us wonder as well. We ask, 'Why are we here? What is the meaning of our being?'
Our lives find their deepest meaning when we are intimately connected to the One who made us and is making us still. Watch for God to be revealed to you, close to you, in your moments apart here today."
"And the Word became Flesh and lived among us, and we have seen his glory, the glory as of a father's only son, full of grace and truth." (John 1:14)
Christmas Blessings and all my hopes for a happy and healthy New Year,
Miriam
