Farewell to Kate
Dear Members of the Parish,
It is hard to believe that this Sunday, May 10th will be Kate Cress' last Sunday with us. She will be graduating from the BU School of Theology on May 17th. She has been chosen as Valedictorian of her class and she certainly deserves it for all her hard work with her academics.
Kate has enriched my life and ministry and I know that she has enriched all of us with her presence, her preaching and her deep caring for everyone in our parish.
We will honor Kate this coming Sunday with a reception after after the 11 AM Eucharist in the Small Hall. It is fitting that we are also having several baptisms on that day -- 3 from the Heywood Family! Since our focus this year has been on Grace Church as a Baptizing Community, it seems we've come full circle with Kate's presence among us and the opportunity to share our faith journey with one another.
Kate will be ordained as a transitional deacon on Saturday, June 6th at 10:30 AM at the Cathedral Church of St. Paul in Boston. I hope that many of you will join me that day as we witness this joyful and important day in Kate's life and the life of the whole Church.
Grace Church has always been blessed and enriched by inviting Seminarians and Interns to be a part of our faith community. I am grateful for your openness in welcoming those students who have been given so much by all of you and have given so much to us in return.
Blessings and Peace,
Miriam
