The Circle of Light and Love

Dear Members of the Parish,

Yesterday reminded me once again what an incredible faith community we have! It was so fitting on Mothers' Day to have four Baptisms. The energy and connectedness that we felt, drew us into something greater than ourselves. Gathering around the Baptismal Font with the glorious installation of symbols above it, we witnessed the incorporation of Lucinda Rose, Elliot Isabel, Samantha Jane and Alden James into the Household of God.

We celebrated their lives and the potential that is already present. They each have their own unique personalities and gifts and as we promised to do everything in our power to support them in their life of faith, I tried to imagine what they will do with the one amazing life they have been given.

Baptizing babies and children is one of the most joyful privileges of my ministry. Each child gives me hope and their abounding love and joy is contagious. We know what a gift the children of Grace are to each one of us. Whether they are infants, middle schoolers, high school or college age, they all have something to contribute to our common life. Let's continue to nurture them as they grow in the light and love of God.

Blessings and Peace,
Miriam
